The Zircon StudSensor HD55 is an electronic edge-finding stud finder designed to safely and accurately locate the edges of wood and metal studs behind walls, ceilings, and floors. It features two scanning options: StudScan mode, which detects stud edges up to 3/4 inches deep, and a selectable DeepScan mode that penetrates up to 1-1/2 inches deep through multiple layers of drywall or sheet materials. For added safety, the device is equipped with continuous background WireWarning detection to alert users to the presence of live, unshielded AC electrical wiring up to 2 inches deep.
